Liz is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine and an academic neonatologist at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. She completed her medical school training at Washington University School of Medicine, and she performed her pediatric residency training at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She was a neonatology fellow at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, during which time she earned her MSCE degree at the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Foglia is the Director of Neonatal Resuscitation and Simulation at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and the chair of the Neonatal Scientific Review Committee at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. She is a Steering Committee member of the American Academy of Pediatrics Neonatal Resuscitation Program, and she is a member of the American Heart Association Get With the Guidelines- Resuscitation Pediatric Research Taskforce. Liz serves on the Neonatal Life Support Taskforce for the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR), which formulates the guidelines for neonatal resuscitation used globally. Dr. Foglia’s research aims to characterize the epidemiology of neonatal resuscitation, to improve monitoring and clinical performance during resuscitation, and to identify interventions to prevent mortality and long-term disability in high-risk infants.

Fun Facts

Liz played ultimate frisbee in college. She loves to cook and bake...she has a problematic sweet tooth. And she adores her three kids!
