The Providing Oxygen during Intubation in the NICU Trial (POINT) enrolled its first patient this week in the CHOP NICU! This NIH-funded trial will determine whether apneic oxygenation reduces the magnitude of oxygen desaturation during pre-medicated neonatal intubation. Congratulations to the POINT team- especially Heidi Herrick, Sura Lee, and Paul Wildenhain- for their work getting this trial launched.
